Review Guidelines

These guidelines set out who may write a review on the controller’s website, what a review may contain, how reviews are published and when they are removed. Their aim is to keep reviews truthful, useful for other builders and compliant with the law.

Part One

General provisions

Article I: Purpose and scope

  1. These Review Guidelines (hereinafter the “Guidelines”) are issued by Bc. Samuel Aurel Kopáč (hereinafter the “operator”) for reviews published on his website (hereinafter the “Website”).
  2. The Guidelines apply to all reviews, whether submitted via a personal link or via the public form on the References page.
  3. The Guidelines build in particular on
    1. Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on Consumer Protection, which prohibits the publication of false consumer reviews,
    2. Section 11 et seq. of Act No. 40/1964 Coll., the Civil Code, on the protection of personality,
    3. Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data.
  4. By submitting a review, the author confirms that they have read the Guidelines and that their review complies with them.

Article II: Definitions

  1. For the purposes of the Guidelines
    1. review means a rating (1 to 5 stars) and a written statement about the operator’s services, together with details of the building,
    2. author means the natural person who submitted the review,
    3. personal link means a unique web address that the operator gives to a client after the job is completed,
    4. public form means the “Write a review” form on the References page.
Part Two

Author of a review

Article III: Who may write a review

  1. A review may only be written by a person who actually used the operator’s services, or by a person who dealt with the job directly on behalf of the customer (for example a representative of a municipality or a company).
  2. One review may be written for each job. If the author wishes to change their review, they ask the operator to reopen the personal link.
  3. Via the public form, at most one review may be submitted from a single internet connection within 24 hours of the previous one.
  4. A review may only be written by a person over the age of 16.
  5. It is prohibited to write a review on behalf of another person, to impersonate another person or to write a review of a job the author was not involved in.

Article IV: Author’s responsibility

  1. The author is responsible for the content of their review and confirms that it is based on their own experience and is truthful.
  2. A review expresses the opinion of the author, not of the operator.
  3. The author may not request or accept any reward, discount or other benefit for writing a review.
Part Three

Content of a review

Article V: What a review may contain

  1. A review should be factual and useful for other builders. It may contain in particular
    1. a description of how the cooperation went, the communication and keeping to deadlines,
    2. the experience with the preparation of the design and obtaining permits,
    3. positive as well as critical assessment, provided it is truthful and politely worded.
  2. A review may have up to 1,000 characters and may be written in Slovak, Czech or English.

Article VI: Prohibited content

  1. A review must not contain
    1. the address of the building, the parcel number or other details from which the building can be precisely identified,
    2. personal data of third parties, in particular names of neighbours, officials or employees, phone numbers and email addresses,
    3. vulgar, offensive, defamatory or discriminatory statements,
    4. threats or incitement to violence or unlawful conduct,
    5. untrue statements of fact that may damage the reputation of the operator or of third parties,
    6. advertising, links to other websites or promotion of other persons or companies,
    7. content that infringes copyright or other rights of third parties,
    8. content unrelated to the operator’s services.
Part Four

Publication and removal

Article VII: Publication of a review

  1. Every review is checked by the operator before publication. A review is published on the Website after his approval.
  2. For a review submitted via a personal link, the author’s name is shown in the form they chose. For a review from the public form, the full name and the location of the building are shown.
  3. The operator does not edit, correct or shorten the texts of reviews. The star rating is determined solely by the author.
  4. Reviews are displayed on the Website from newest to oldest. The operator does not sort or select them by rating.

Article VIII: Verification of reviews

  1. Reviews submitted via a personal link come from clients for whom the operator carried out a job, because only such a client receives the link.
  2. Before publication, the operator compares reviews submitted via the public form with his jobs. A review from a person who was not his client will not be published.
  3. The operator does not provide any reward, discount or other benefit for reviews and does not publish reviews written or commissioned by himself.
  4. The operator does not reject, remove or hide reviews merely because they are critical or contain a lower rating. Approval is assessed solely according to these Guidelines.

Article IX: Hiding and removing a review

  1. The operator will hide or remove without undue delay any review that breaches these Guidelines or the law, even without notifying the author in advance.
  2. Where possible, the operator will inform the author of the removal using the email address they provided.
  3. The author may request the removal of their review at any time. The operator will remove it without undue delay, and within 30 days at the latest.

Article X: Objections by third parties

  1. Anyone who believes that a review infringes their rights or these Guidelines may notify the operator by email at aurelokopac@gmail.com. The notice should state which review it concerns and what the breach is.
  2. The operator will assess the notice without undue delay. If it is justified, the review will be hidden or removed.
Part Five
